A few creative writing majors are trying to build a student writing community around these parts. If you have some pieces that you would like to have workshopped, a group will be getting together tomorrow (Friday 9-10-2010) to lend some eyes and ears and help you fine-tune your work.
The schedule is flexible, but here’s an idea in case you only want to participate in one genre:
Poetry: 5:30-7:30
Fiction and Non-Fiction: 7:30-9:30
We’ll have food and a comfortable, censor-free atmosphere.
Bring about 10 copies of your work and anything you want to share, such as favorite authors, stories, books, poems, etc.
Invite any writers you know who might be interested.
Call 813-369-1834 for more information and directions. Hope to see you there!

And if you’re on Facebook, there’s a USF Creative Writers Network group that also tries to facilitate community.
